About The Position

This entry-level role in Sargent & Lundy’s Nuclear Power Group has a target start date of early 2027. The Piping Engineering & Analysis discipline evaluates piping systems under applicable codes, including ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, ASME B31.1, and ASME B31.7. Its specialty work includes vibration monitoring and analysis; vibration prevention and mitigation; hydraulic transient evaluations; thermal stratification evaluations; operability evaluations; qualification of piping for hydrodynamic loads; pipe rupture evaluations; pipe wall-thinning evaluations due to flow-accelerated or microbiologically induced corrosion; and pipe flaw evaluations. The engineer learns to apply engineering principles through collecting, processing, and evaluating data, and performs limited-scope engineering calculations and analyses under close supervision. Entry-level staff support engineering design projects by gathering data, preparing simple calculations and designs, compiling information for specifications, bid tabulations, and reports or studies, and communicating technical information clearly to project teams and supervisors. The role applies accepted standards and processes, completes assignments within allocated time frames, and develops professional capabilities through assigned project work. Sargent & Lundy’s Nuclear Power Group works on nuclear engineering, design, and licensing, including small modular reactors, advanced reactor technology, reactor restarts, existing plant life extensions and digital modernization, coal-to-nuclear initiatives, and international nuclear projects. The company describes its work as supporting carbon-free energy and reducing emissions. The position does not offer U.S. work-authorization sponsorship. Compensation is listed as $62,998–$90,586, with eligible positions potentially including a yearly discretionary bonus. The company offers comprehensive benefits and flexible work arrangements.
