About The Position

Moore's Electrical & Mechanical is seeking a Piping Mechanic to assist job site crews with the installation of mechanical piping systems in commercial projects, primarily K-12, University, and Healthcare buildings, throughout the Charlottesville and surrounding areas. Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Intermediate to Advanced understanding of trade principles and concepts.
• Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
• Good physical condition with the ability to lift heavy objects and work in various environments.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to safety and following established protocols.
• Valid driver's license and dependable transportation.

Nice To Haves

• Vocational school or prior training.
• Welding experience (Stick welding on pipe) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist job site crew with the installation of mechanical piping systems.
• Perform welding (carbon steel pipe), pipe fitting, or both.
• Read and interpret construction/coordination drawings and blueprints.
• Train and mentor helpers and apprentices.
• Assist other mechanical trades as needed.
• Complete projects from start to finish.
• Maintain a valid driver's license and dependable transportation.
