About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Piping Engineer 3 to support their Denver office. This role involves performing a variety of engineering assignments in planning and overseeing research, development, design, manufacture, test, installation, operation, and maintenance of diverse electronic/mechanical equipment and systems. The engineer will function as a member of a design, analysis, or review team on more complex assignments or as a lead on less complex assignments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or related scientific field.
  • 5 years of job-related experience or equivalent.
  • Good communications and analytical skills
  • Working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs.
  • Position may require travel.
  • Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
  • US Citizen only. Dual Citizens are not allowed.

  • Piping Stress Analysis experience
  • Piping Specifications experience
  • Piping material selection, valve selection experience
  • Experience with Plant 3D, and Navisworks
  • Familiar with AutoCAD and Revit BIM is preferred
  • Previous experience with Department of Energy (DOE) projects is preferred.
  • PE License preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform a range of design development, analysis or review tasks under minimal supervision.
  • Act as a lead on less complex tasks and responsible for a portion of a design or section of an analysis or design review.
  • Generate complete design specifications of more complex projects.
  • Coordinate and work closely with other engineering, logistics, finance, and program management disciplines to define system specifications and requirements.
  • Establish and maintain a filing system or databases as needed for tracking project status.
  • Develop, maintain and produce technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications.
  • Direct interface and liaison with customers at all levels from quotation to final design and test activities, design reviews and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specifications.
  • Conduct site visits, experimental investigations and analyze engineering problems, propose solutions and alternatives, and provide recommendations.
  • Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures.
  • Support development of technical proposal and provide comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work.
