About The Position

Nous recherchons un concepteur tuyauterie ayant une expérience pertinente pour se joindre à notre équipe au bureau du Québec de Montréal. Le candidat idéal possédera une expérience solide dans la préparation de dessins liés aux installations, équipements, services ou autres infrastructures destinés à l’industrie minière. Il ou elle participera à l’ensemble du processus de conception, de l’idée initiale jusqu’à la conception détaillée, avec un accent clair sur l’expertise mécanique. Sedgman is looking for an intermediate Piping Designer to join our team in the Montreal Qc office. The ideal incumbent will have solid experience in the preparation of drawings relating to plant, equipment, services or other facilities and structures for the mining industry. He / She will be involved in the entire design process, from concept to detailed design, with a clear focus on mechanical expertise. Requirements

  • Associate Diploma in CAD / or any other formal training certificates
  • Must have minimum 5 – 7 years’ experience in an Engineering design/consultancy environment preferably
  • Ability to take an engineering concept and convert it into a Piping Plant 3D design
  • Knowledge of Auto CAD Piping Plant 3D modelling is essential
  • Discipline-based AutoCAD product usage required
  • Experience in a heavy industry environment desired
  • Skills in MS Office Suite
  • Language requirements: excellent spoken and written French. Strong spoken English skills are required due to daily contact with clients, suppliers, partners, and colleagues based outside Quebec.
  • Eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship

Responsibilities

  • Provide drafting support to the project teams in line with management direction from them whilst maximising individual and teams utilisation.
  • Focus on meeting expectations for schedule, quality and client satisfaction.
  • Support Project Development activities through the concept setting and review process.
  • Complete detailed design of equipment and plant layouts from sketches or specification outlines in the mechanical field under direction of engineers or a supervising designer
  • Participate in the review of designs and advise on technical drafting difficulties or compliance requirements as appropriate
  • Comply with the Change Management process for engineering design
  • Upkeep of drawing list and percentage complete status
  • Participate in the development and continuous improvement of the Quality management process and system
  • Understand Sedgman standard specifications and typical/standard drawings to reflect current industry standards
