About The Position

This role is for a Piping Design Engineer III responsible for developing project takeoffs, bid packages, and pipe drawings. The position requires coordination with various engineering teams, QAQC, and outside vendors. The engineer will also be responsible for hydrostatic testing, code paperwork, and ensuring project compliance with regulations and policies. Travel to project sites for startup assistance is also a requirement.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) degree.
Minimum 6+ years experience.
Working knowledge of construction, industry codes and standards.

Nice To Haves

ASME/ANSI/API/NFPA/CSA codes (ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, 49 CFR 192 & 195) preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Develop project takeoffs for weld count and materials.
Develop bid packages for project materials and work with outside vendors for pricing.
Coordinate with QAQC Team to support drawing preparation.
Develop pipe drawings and weld maps including heat number tracing and welds.
Coordinate with Electrical, structural, and process engineering teams for total package development.
Design hydrostatic tests and supervise testing, including maintenance of test gauge calibration.
Maintain all required code paperwork for each project.
Travel to project sites to assist in the startup of fabricated equipment.
Prepare purchase orders to successful vendors.
Review project plan and schedule changes, recommending actions to ensure projects stay on time and on budget while meeting client specifications.
Ensure project compliance with appropriate government regulations, safety rules, and company and client policies.
