Generally responsible for performing all aspects for complete designs of mechanical/piping assignments using theoretical knowledge and practical design methods. This level is expected to assist in the design of larger and more complex mechanical/piping assignments. This work will be performed under general supervision. Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Familiarity with and utilizing department design and drafting standards. On-site assistance during startup. Providing technical guidance to less experienced drafting personnel in the department. Coordinating work activities with other staff members and the discipline lead. Complete understanding of the skills and experience required to perform design functions. A working knowledge of piping fabrication and inspection methods. Mentoring colleagues. Participating in squad checks to insure coordination between the design disciplines. Delegating work to designers in proportion to their technical skills and experience, then following up for support to ensure efficient progress and quality.
