About The Position

The Pipeline Integrity Engineer serves as a project manager and technical resource supporting Kinder Morgan's Products, CO2, and Terminals pipeline systems. This position manages pipeline integrity programs and projects including in-line inspections (ILI), external corrosion direct assessments (ECDA), remediation activities, anomaly evaluations, and repairs. The role works closely with Operations, Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, Regulatory, and other stakeholders to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operation of pipeline assets. Reporting to the Manager of Engineering, the successful candidate will demonstrate strong project management, technical, communication, and leadership skills while supporting regional integrity and facility initiatives. Position level, job title and pay will be determined by candidates’ level of experience and skill.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or related degree and 2-4 years minimum industry experience depending on degree.
  • 2+ years of engineering and/or project management experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Demonstrated project management experience including scope development, budgeting, cost control, scheduling, and risk management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently with limited supervision.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and standard business software.
  • Employee must be capable of completing and satisfying all training requirements as required by local, state, or federal agencies and/or the Company policy.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to company and its insurer.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with liquids and CO2 pipeline integrity programs.
  • Knowledge of in-line inspection technologies and integrity assessment methods.
  • Familiarity with PHMSA pipeline regulations, 49 CFR Part 195, ASME, API, and NACE standards.
  • Experience with pipeline remediation, construction, and pressure testing.
  • Knowledge of terminals, facility, and measurement operations.
  • Root cause failure analysis experience.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar engineering design software.
  • Advanced analytical and technical problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage pipeline integrity projects from planning through execution and closeout.
  • Coordinate in-line inspection (ILI), ECDA, remediation, pressure testing, and repair programs.
  • Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, forecasts, and risk mitigation plans.
  • Prepare cost estimates, secure project funding, track expenditures, and complete project closeout documentation.
  • Manage contractor selection, bid processes, construction activities, permitting, and material procurement.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, EH&S, Accounting, Business Development, Product Movement, Land, Right-of-Way, and regulatory stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable company standards, PHMSA regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Provide engineering support for pipeline, facility, measurement, and operational improvement initiatives.
  • Balance multiple concurrent projects while adjusting priorities to meet business needs.
  • Support investigations, evaluations, and corrective actions related to asset integrity and equipment reliability.
