About The Position

This role is responsible for managing pipeline integrity projects, O&M projects, and small capital projects. The engineer will provide technical support in all areas of pipeline systems and serve as a technical resource for the company, supporting projects and ensuring compliance with regulations and company standards.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Engineering.
A minimum of 2-6 years of experience in engineering.
Intermediate proficiency level in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Visio, and Outlook).
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.
Knowledge of the natural gas and oil transmission industry, pipeline/facilities design, construction, operation, and testing.
Proficiency in basic engineering skills.
Proficiency in basic project management skills.
Familiarity and ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical blueprints and diagrams, including flow charts, cause/effect diagrams, and Piping and Instrument Drawings (P&IDs).
Familiarity with pipeline and facility design calculations and equations.
Familiarity and ability to read and interpret basic GIS information and maps.
Knowledge of ROW, EHS, and regulatory clearances for pipeline projects.
Ability to work with a team, take direction from management, adhere to required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules.
Ability to organize and prioritize work to successfully perform work on simultaneous projects and tasks to meet deadlines.
Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time.
Regularly required to use hands to type, touch, handle, or feel.
Required to talk and listen.
Frequently required to stand and reach with hands and arms.
Occasionally required to walk and climb or balance.
Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Ability to work in varying, sometimes extreme, weather conditions as needed during field work.
Field activities may include walking to and amidst work and/or construction sites, climbing in and out of trenches, working around heavy equipment and working in confined spaces.
Required to carry a cell phone and be available to respond during working and non-working hours.
Will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, including credit report for certain positions, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.

Responsibilities

Oversee the planning, scheduling, management, and reporting of multiple capital and maintenance projects, including new pipeline construction, pipeline replacement, inline inspection, pipeline integrity remediation, pressure testing, compression, automation and controls, measurement, corrosion, gas processing, pipeline interconnects, and encroachments.
Develop project scope documents and track, manage, and report any changes to project scope.
Manage multiple contractors and consultants simultaneously, such as inspectors, engineering consultants, surveyors, material suppliers, general contractors, NDE contractors, line stopping and hot tapping contractors, cross compression contractors, and ILI consultants.
Engineer pipeline and facility designs for small projects including pipeline replacements, pipeline re-routes, pig traps, and minor station piping modifications.
Provide oversight and engineering for pipeline defect assessments and repairs.
Develop project schedules, cost estimates, and budget forecasts with minimal direction.
Develop Request for Proposal (RFP) bid documents for construction projects and materials, conduct the bid process, prepare detailed bid analysis, and select the successful contractor.
Provide technical expertise to internal and external customers and offer engineering and project management support to field operations.
Provide technical guidance on the application of industry codes, standards, and federal regulations governing hazardous pipeline design and construction.
Develop and/or update Company engineering, material, and equipment specifications and standards.
Manage projects according to Company and OSHA safety standards, and Company engineering, construction, and operating/maintenance standards and procedures.
Collect, review, organize, and publish project and compliance-related documentation into project job books for regulatory audits and long-term retention.
Participate in design reviews for large capital projects as required.
Participate in industry research groups as required.
Collaborate with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy, and professionalism.
Communicate clearly and effectively, both in person and over the phone, demonstrating strong verbal skills and active listening.
