About The Position

Linde Inc. is hiring a Pipeline Instrumentation and Electrical Technician in East Chicago, Indiana. The technician maintains and troubleshoots industrial instrumentation, electrical systems, pipeline communications, and pneumatic control systems. The role also plans and performs preventive and corrective maintenance and assists with root cause analysis of major failures. Travel of approximately 10% is expected.

Requirements

Associate’s degree or Engineering Technology degree in Instrumentation/Electronics.
At least two years of experience maintaining instrumentation systems and equipment in an industrial manufacturing environment.
Proven experience installing, troubleshooting, repairing, testing, and calibrating industrial instrumentation systems and equipment.
Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance of industrial instrumentation systems and equipment.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and achieve results with minimal supervision.
Proficiency with computers and standard software applications, including Microsoft Office and email.
Availability to travel approximately 10% of the time.

Responsibilities

Maintain and troubleshoot industrial instruments, including transmitters, PLC systems, meters, analyzers, and automatic valves.
Maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems, including 480 VAC electrical power systems.
Understand and operate switchgear control systems and safely rack breakers in and out.
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot pipeline remote communication systems, including cellular, IT networking, and data-logging devices.
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot pipeline pneumatic control systems, including pneumatic PID controllers, pneumatic low-pressure pilots, and pressure-reducing regulators.
Develop, plan, schedule, coordinate, and perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
Assist in root cause analysis activities for major failures.
