About The Position

Unilever is hiring a full-time Instrumentation/Electrical Technician for its Chicago, Illinois union location. The position is a direct hire on the third shift, Monday through Friday from 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. The base pay rate is $43.02, paid weekly. The technician repairs and installs electrical and automated equipment, diagnoses and corrects equipment issues, completes complex wiring assignments, and provides technical assistance to lower-level maintenance electricians. The role requires computer proficiency in programming, PLCs, and Foxboro, along with adherence to safety guidelines. Employment is subject to verification of applicable pre-screening tests, which may include drug screening, a pre-employment physical, and background checks. Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent.
At least 3 years of experience.
Computer proficiency in programming, PLCs, and Foxboro.

Responsibilities

Repair complex electrical equipment, including automated machines, controls, panels, relays, circuit breakers, communication systems, and alarms.
Install electrical equipment with minimal instructions.
Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, and detect and replace defective control modules.
Perform complex wiring assignments and install power, light, electronic, and control circuits.
Provide technical assistance to lower-level maintenance electricians.
Use computer proficiency in programming, PLCs, and Foxboro.
Adhere to safety guidelines in performing job functions and duties.
