We are currently looking for a Pipelayer to assist our construction team. The successful candidate will be an individual with a flexible schedule to work with our team on multiple civil construction projects throughout British Columbia. The right candidate will have the training and confidence to aid the construction team in projects.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role
- Ability to read blueprints and city specifications is required
- Experience in civil construction is required
- Understanding of current OH&S safe work practices and regulations
- Physically fit to perform duties
- Class 5 License is required
Nice To Haves
- Experience with survey equipment is an asset
- Pipe fusing ticket is an asset
Responsibilities
- Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain underground utilities according to drawings, specifications, and safety codes.
- Work with operators to ensure a safe and efficient excavations.
- Conduct pressure tests and inspections to ensure the integrity and quality is to MMCD standards.
- Check slopes for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasers.
- Carry out site foreman’s directives safely throughout daily operations.
- Install various sizes and materials of pipe.
- Work safely in deep trenches.
- Ability to safely work around excavation equipment including excavators, loaders, packers, etc.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Highly organized with acute attention to detail.
- Strong team player and self-motivated.
