About The Position
A Pipefitting Apprentice supports qualified pipefitters in the installation, maintenance, and repair of pipework systems. The role combines practical, on-the-job training with formal apprenticeship learning to develop the technical skills, safety awareness, and industry knowledge required to become a competent pipefitter.
Requirements
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment safely and correctly.
- Willingness to follow all site health, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Willingness to use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Willingness to participate in toolbox talks, safety briefings, and risk assessments.
- Willingness to report hazards, near misses, and incidents promptly.
- Willingness to comply with company policies and industry regulations.
- Willingness to attend college as part of the apprenticeship programme.
- Willingness to work towards relevant vocational qualifications.
- Willingness to seek feedback and demonstrate continuous improvement.
- Willingness to develop knowledge of materials, systems, and industry best practice.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the installation, assembly, fabrication, and fitting of pipework systems.
- Support cutting, bending, threading, and preparation of pipes and fittings.
- Learn to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and isometric diagrams.
- Assist with pressure testing, inspections, and system commissioning.
- Carry out basic maintenance and fault-finding under supervision.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment safely and correctly.
- Assist with materials handling, site preparation, and housekeeping.
- Follow all site health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Participate in toolbox talks, safety briefings, and risk assessments.
- Report hazards, near misses, and incidents promptly.
- Comply with company policies and industry regulations.
