About The Position

We are currently seeking qualified Pipefitters to join our on-site Construction team, for a 2-month project, based out of a remote camp location near Fort MacKay, Alberta. This position offers the opportunity to participate in construction on the Imperial Oil (IOL) Kearl Lake Sodium Citrate Injection Process System. The shift is planned to be 21 days on and 7 days off rotation, 10-hour days. While the preference is to hire candidates who resides locally, fly-in, fly-out from Edmonton, Alberta or Calgary, Alberta will be available based on eligibility. Hourly rate: Ranges from $32.15/hr. to $53.58/hr.

Requirements

  • Apprentice up to and including Journeyperson Red Seal level
  • Strong technical knowledge and proven experience in pipefitting
  • Experience in an industrial setting required
  • Knowledge and experience with industrial construction and operations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to clearly communicate with all levels of a project organization
  • Fall Arrest Certification

Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner according to all relevant legislation, policies and procedures
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications to determine layout requirements
  • Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
  • Select type and size of pipe required
  • Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
  • Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
  • Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
  • Hydrotest system for leaks using testing equipment
  • Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system
  • Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system
  • Other duties as required
