The Pipefitter lays out, positions, aligns, and fits together fabricated parts. The role involves fabricating and installing various types of piping, installing valves and supports, testing piping and tubing systems, and performing related maintenance and repair. Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in the industrial construction or maintenance industry.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, isometrics, field installations, material takeoffs, field sketches, and specifications.
• Fabricate and install screw pipe, socket weld pipe, stainless tubing, carbon steel weld pipe, and stainless steel weld pipe.
• Miter and fabricate pipe.
• Install valves, underground pipe, pipe hangers, and supports.
• Perform steam and heat tracing.
• Use a beveling machine.
• Perform basic plumbing repairs.
• Perform minor valve maintenance and repair.
• Test piping systems.
• Perform oxygen and acetylene cutting.
• Perform basic rigging.
• Operate pneumatic and electric tools.
• Leak-test tubing systems.
• Carry out additional responsibilities as required.
