About The Position

Turner Industries is seeking a Pipefitter for a position in Norco, Louisiana. The role lays out, fabricates, assembles, installs, and maintains piping and piping systems, fixtures, and equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial processing systems. This is a non-exempt role reporting to the Foreman. Duties are assigned according to specific procedures, and work is checked frequently.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
7–8 years of experience in the specified skill.
Meet job-site safety requirements specified by the client, which may include being clean-shaven and wearing long sleeves and steel-toe boots.
Use safety equipment required by the client, such as a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, and safety harness with lanyard.
Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.

Responsibilities

Select pipe sizes, pipe types, and related materials according to job specifications.
Inspect work sites for obstructions and determine whether openings could cause structural weakness.
Plan installation sequences to avoid obstructions and conflicts with other construction workers' activities.
Cut, thread, and bend pipe.
Assemble and install metal and nonmetal pipe fittings, including brass, copper, lead, glass, and plastic fittings.
Join pipe using threaded, caulked, soldered, brazed, fused, or cemented joints.
Secure pipe to structures with clamps, brackets, and hangers.
Install and maintain refrigeration and air-conditioning systems, including compressors, pumps, meters, pneumatic and hydraulic controls, and piping.
Test piping systems for leaks.
