About The Position

The company is seeking an experienced Pipefitter/Pipe Welder for work in the Salt Lake City, UT area. Pipe welders are responsible for laying out, fitting, and welding fabricated, cast, and forged components to assemble structural forms like tanks, pressure vessels, furnace shells, pipes, and building and bridge parts.

Requirements

High school or equivalent
One (1) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level)
Must pass two weld tests: 6g position - 1. GTAW root and hot pass; 7018 the rest of the weld 2. GTAW the entire weld
Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.)
Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)
Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

Responsibilities

Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together.
Bolts, clamps, and tack welds parts to secure in position for welding.
Sets up equipment and welds parts.
May assemble parts by bolting and riveting.
May weld pipe such as carbon steel, stainless steel, chrome, etc. by process of arc, heliarc, gas, mig, tig, etc.
May weld pipe, sheet metal, structural steel, brackets, or other materials.
May repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
May use a cutting torch to cut materials and demo existing assemblies.
