About The Position

The Pipefitter Helper assists pipefitters and pipe fabricators with laying out, assembling, installing, and maintaining pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial production and processing systems. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• A valid TWIC Card.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience in an industrial setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cut, thread, and hammer pipe to specifications using tools such as saws, cutting torches, and pipe threaders and benders.
• Cut or drill holes in walls to permit passage of pipes, using a pneumatic drill.
• Select the specific type and size of pipe.
• Mount pipe hangers and brackets to hold pipe.
• Assist pipefitters in installing valves, couplings, and other fittings.
• Disassemble and remove damaged or worn pipe as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
