About The Position

Hutco, Inc. is seeking skilled Pipe Welders with a minimum of five years of commercial or naval experience. The Pipe Welder will perform multi-pass, all-position fillet and butt welds using SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) and GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) processes on a variety of materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and copper nickel pipe.

Requirements

Minimum of five years of commercial or naval experience.
Proficient in multi-pass, all-position fillet and butt welds using SMAW and GTAW processes.
Ability to fuse inserts and weld carbon steel, stainless steel, and copper nickel pipe.
Experience with mirror welding using SMAW and GTAW processes.
Experience using Oxygen/Propane heating torch.
Experience working in physically demanding environments such as shipboard, sub-assemblies, ladders, and staging.
Familiarity with OSHA regulations related to shipbuilding.
Proficient in using fillet gauges, butt gauges, and a six-inch scale.
Qualified to weld in all positions using SMAW and GTAW processes.
Experience with thin wall sockets (below 0.187 wall joints).
Must pass Welders Vision Test.
Must pass Visual Inspection of Welds (Level I).
Must pass Pre-heat and Interpass Fire Watch.
Must pass CBT and Torch Safety Test.

Responsibilities

Perform multi-pass, all-position fillet and butt welds using SMAW and GTAW processes.
Weld carbon steel, stainless steel, and copper nickel pipe.
Perform mirror welding using SMAW and GTAW processes.
Use Oxygen/Propane heating torch.
Work in physically demanding environments such as shipboard, sub-assemblies, ladders, and staging.
Adhere to OSHA regulations related to shipbuilding.
Use fillet gauges, butt gauges, and a six-inch scale.
Weld in all positions using SMAW and GTAW processes.
Weld thin wall sockets (below 0.187 wall joints).
Pass Welders Vision Test.
Pass Visual Inspection of Welds (Level I).
