This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Self-sufficient, self-starter and driven.
• 3+ years of experience GTAW welding in a manufacturing production environment.
• Demonstrated experience with NDT-quality welds , including work that has been inspected by methods such as: X-ray / radiographic testing (RT) Ultrasonic testing (UT), including phased array (PAUT) or automated UT (AUT), or similar advanced NDT.
• Familiar with all types of Non-Destructive testing and quality policies
• Experience performing welds on components subject to pressure loads (e.g., refineries, power plants, steam systems, process piping)
• Substantial ability using hand tools and precision measuring equipment.
• U.S. person status as required by applicable regulations (U.S. citizen, U.S. national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum)

Nice To Haves

• Certified per ASME Section IX
• Background in tube welding and heavy-wall pipe and plate welding in high-pressure or safety-critical applications.
• Experience in a high-scrutiny, safety- or mission-critical industry (e.g., aerospace, nuclear, or similar)
• Familiarity with Geometric tolerancing (GD&T)
• Experience with mechanized welding technologies.
• Leadership experience.
• Willingness to mentor less experienced technicians and welders.
• Experience with 5S methodology and lean initiatives.
• Current GTAW certifications in accordance with AWS D17.1.
• Expert level of confidence in aerospace manufacturing specifications for structural and welded assemblies.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment. (forklift, crane, hoist, man lift, etc.)
• Willingness to develop/learn new welding processes.

Responsibilities

• Preparing weld joints — cleaning, fitting, tacking, and positioning parts in fixtures and tooling per engineering drawings and process documentation
• Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and technical work instructions.
• Must be able to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50lbs.
• Must be able to pass a practical Weld Test (1F, 3F, 2G, 3G and 6G).
