About The Position

Rogers Group, Inc. is hiring Utilities & Pipe Crew Laborers for its Huntsville, Alabama / North Alabama operations area. The position involves laying storm drainage, sanitary sewer mains, and water mains, along with supporting grading and pipe work. The successful candidate is expected to work safely, contribute to quality and productivity, and work effectively with the crew. This is a permanent, full-time, day-shift role; weekend work may be required, and overtime is available. Wages depend on experience.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience in grading operations, utilities, or pipe work is preferred.
• Commitment to working safely at all times.
• Team-player attitude and ability to perform duties independently without constant supervision.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from work.
• Ability to read and understand grade stakes.
• Ability to use mechanic’s hand tools and a tape measure.
• Ability to use both hands and feet at the same time.
• Ability to hear and understand supervisors’ commands, coworkers’ warnings, and equipment alarms; hearing protection may be required due to noise levels.
• Ability to crawl and climb on, over, under, and inside construction equipment.
• Ability to lift and carry objects and materials weighing up to 100 pounds.
• Ability and willingness to work outdoors in all types of weather and tolerate loud noise.
• Willingness and flexibility to work overtime, weekends, nights, and extended hours when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Lay storm drainage, sanitary sewer mains, and water mains.

• Use a pipe laser or level.
• Work safely and assist coworkers or supervisors with other duties as required.
