Pipe Fitter - Skilled (1-3 Years Exp Required)
About The Position
Pipe Fitters install complex piping systems aboard ships and in the shop. The role involves learning to read blueprints and fabricating, installing, inspecting, and testing piping systems. New hires attend a Fundamentals of Piping Fitting class during their first few weeks and may receive additional training throughout their careers. The position requires 1–3 years of previous Pipe Fitter experience. Employees must be willing to work any shift and overtime as needed, and must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, at extreme heights, and in small, confined spaces.
Requirements
- Must have 1–3 years of previous Pipe Fitter experience.
- Must be able to take measurements or be willing to learn.
- Must be willing to undergo a background investigation and drug screen.
- Must pass a physical agility test.
- Must be able to kneel, squat, crawl, bend, stoop, and climb daily.
- Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds and perform overhead work.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed and any shift.
- Must be clean-shaven to wear a respirator.
- Must be able to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions, at extreme heights, and in small, tight, confined spaces.
- U.S. citizenship is required for this position.
