About The Position

Pipe Fitters install complex piping systems on ships and in the shop. The work includes learning to read blueprints and fabricating, installing, inspecting, and testing piping systems aboard ships. New hires attend a Fundamentals of Piping Fitting class during their first few weeks, with additional training provided throughout their careers to develop job knowledge.

Requirements

• At least 1–3 years of previous pipe fitter experience.
• Must be able to take measurements or be willing to learn.
• Must be willing to undergo a background investigation and drug screen.
• Must be able to pass a physical agility test.
• Must be able to kneel, squat, crawl, bend, stoop, and climb on a daily basis.
• Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds and perform overhead work.
• Must be clean-shaven to wear a respirator.
• Must be able to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions, at extreme heights, and in small, tight, confined spaces.
• Must be willing to work any shift and overtime as needed.
• U.S. citizenship is required for this position.
