About The Position

MGC Contractors, Inc. is a 100% Employee Owned Corporation specializing in water and wastewater general contracting. We are seeking a Pipe Fitter to join our Utah Division in the Provo area. This role involves working on professional construction sites and requires adherence to safety protocols.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• At least five (5) years of experience installing piping and equipment on multi-functional water/wastewater projects
• Ability to communicate verbally with others on site, in person and over the telephone
• Ability to read printed materials, signs and directions
• Stamina to maintain attention despite interruptions
• Ability to lift, push, pull, carry, handle or feel objects, supplies, tools, machinery and/or controls weighing up to 50 pounds
• Ability to reach with hands and arms
• Ability to climb stairs and/or ladders
• Ability to balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift overhead, traverse around or otherwise position one's self around the required work
• Ability to navigate and perform activities on various construction sites in a safe manner
• Passing a pre-employment drug screen

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of crane rigging and signaling
• Knowledge of different types of process piping materials and connections, PVC, Steel, SST, and DIP
• Knowledge of forklift, scissor lift and boom lift operations

Responsibilities

• Review and comprehend blueprint drawings and specifications
• Lay out large and small diameter mechanical piping, and equipment such as Clarifier, Filters, Chemical Rooms, Aeration Basin System, Influent Fine Screens, and Pumps
• Monitor safety for all on-site personnel and subcontractors
• Assist the Project Superintendent in monitoring project labor
• Understand the process of equipment installation, alignment, and anchoring
• Perform crane rigging and signaling
• Work with different types of process piping materials and connections, including PVC, Steel, SST, and DIP
• Operate forklift, scissor lift, and boom lift
• Perform any other assigned duties
