About The Position

Pipe fitters are responsible for installing complex piping systems on ships and in shops. This involves working with extensive pipe networks, such as over 23 miles of pipe on a submarine and over 230 miles on a carrier. As a pipe fitter, you will learn to read blueprints, fabricate, install, inspect, and test various piping systems. The role includes initial training in a "Fundamentals of Piping Fitting" class and ongoing training to enhance job knowledge.

Requirements

• Able to work at extreme heights or small confined spaces
• Able to kneel, squat, crawl, bend, stoop, and climb
• Able to lift 40 lbs
• Must take and pass a respirator fit test
• Able to work indoors/outdoors year round in all weather conditions
• Able to work assigned shift as production needs
• Able to pass Physical Agility Test
