The Pipe Fitter Helper will assist pipe fitters in the assembly and installation of industrial piping systems. This role involves various duties such as mounting pipe hangers and brackets, installing valves and fittings, disassembling and removing damaged pipes, cutting and grinding pipes, and assisting maintenance with changing hubs and rollers. The helper may also assist in the installation of high-pressure piping. The position requires the ability to follow specific directions, perform a variety of tasks, and be comfortable with heights, including climbing ladders and scaffolds. Atlantic Constructors encourages skill development through internal training programs and/or an Apprenticeship Program.

Requirements

Must have a minimum of six-months pipe fitting helper experience and/or equivalent combination of vocational training and experience
Able to stand or walk for long periods of time
Must be able to lift, and carry, push or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds
Must be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skills
Must adhere to all company policy and procedure
Must be available, and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assigned, to include working varying schedule
Must be able to correctly identify all colors of a color-coded cable/wires and see close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus

Nice To Haves

HS diploma or GED equivalent
Prior military experience

Responsibilities

Mounts pipe hangers and brackets on walls and ceiling to hold pipe
Assists pipe fitter to install valves, couplings, and other fittings
May disassemble and remove damaged or work pipe
Cutting and grinding pipe
Assist maintenance in changing hubs and rollers
May assist in installation of high-pressure piping
Must be able to follow specific directions; perform a variety of duties
Must be comfortable with heights, climb ladders and scaffolds
Willing to commit to developing your technical skills through our internal training programs and / or an Apprenticeship Program
Perform other related duties as assigned
