About The Position

Reporting to the Assistant Chief Pilot, the 705 Captain transports thousands of passengers each year. As a pilot, your number one priority is to conduct each flight safely, taking into consideration the comfort of each passenger and on-time performance.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations
  • Category 1 Medical
  • Current Group 1 Instrument Rating
  • Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) required with 500 hours on DHC-8 preferred
  • 2000 hour Total Time required
  • Pilots must be fluent in English, and be able to demonstrate effective verbal and listening comprehension

Nice To Haves

  • Previous airline experience is considered an asset
  • Indigenous and Cultural Awareness Training considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Conduct flights with strict adherence to the Standard Operating Procedures, Canadian Aviation Regulations, Aircraft Flight Manual, and the Company Operations Manual
  • Check weather, all applicable NOTAMs where available and determine fuel and oil requirements
  • Calculate the airplane weight and balance
  • Review, amend and accept the Operational Flight Plan(Type B 705 operation)
  • Complete an airplane pre-flight inspection before each departure
  • Load, unload and secure cargo/freight as required
  • Complete flight watch jointly with the flight dispatcher (Type B 705 operation)
  • Complete all post flight duties, including notification/confirmation to the Company of the whereabouts of the airplane when away from base, recording flight times and any defects
  • Continue to meet and exceed the Transport Canada Qualification standards for a Pilot
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
