About The Position
Steel Dynamics is seeking a Pilot to join their corporate flight department. This role functions as the Second-in-Command, reporting to the Pilot-in-Command during flights and administratively to the Chief Pilot. The department operates a modern fleet, including Challenger 3500s, and averages 300-350 flight hours annually. The schedule can vary, with most flights planned a week in advance and short-notice callouts being rare. Safety is a top priority, with active participation in the Safety Management System.
Requirements
- Holds at least a Commercial Pilot Certificate with an Instrument and Multi-Engine Rating
- Possess a First Class FAA Medical Certificate
- Possess a valid U.S. Passport
- Previous Jet Experience
Nice To Haves
- Possesses a Bachelor’s degree (highly desirable)
- Holds an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate with Multi-Engine Rating and is type rated in the appropriate aircraft
- CL30 Type Rating strongly preferred
- 3500 Hours Total Flight Time
Responsibilities
- Assists the PIC in the safe and efficient conduct of the flight
- Maintains a working knowledge of the duties and responsibilities of the Pilot-in-Command
- Assumes PIC duties, including control of the flight, in the event of PIC incapacitation
- Participates in the Safety Management System
