About The Position

The Pilot Operations Technician supports development manufacturing activities through hands-on processing in a pilot-scale laboratory environment. This role is responsible for room and equipment setup, material preparation, equipment assembly and disassembly, cleaning activities, and the conversion of raw materials into finished drug product. The position requires strong attention to detail, strict adherence to procedures, accurate documentation practices, and proficiency with electronic systems. The technician works closely with formulators, engineers, Safety, and Facilities teams to support development and continuous improvement initiatives. Training will be provided for all core operations; however, prior experience in a pharmaceutical or laboratory setting is a plus.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or related field
  • At least one year of industry laboratory experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with computer systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, twisting, ladder climbing, and cleanroom gowning (including respirator use)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, operate, clean, and maintain equipment and facilities used in development manufacturing processes
  • Assemble and disassemble processing equipment as required
  • Maintain, inventory, transport, and organize processing equipment, materials, and supplies
  • Complete all required documentation and clerical tasks to support pilot area and laboratory operations
  • Operate and maintain cleaning and sterilization equipment, including parts washers, dry heat ovens, and autoclaves
  • Receive, inspect, store, and manage sterile supplies and equipment to ensure inventory accuracy and cleanliness
  • Prepare and formulate sterile products in accordance with established protocols and batch records
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support safe, compliant, and efficient operations
