Become a part of the “strength within.” Hexcel is currently seeking a R&D Lab Technician II for our Salt Lake City, UT, USA location. The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations: Perform routine and non-routine tasks in support of carbon fiber pilot plant operations. Conduct laboratory analyses and testing as directed. Identify opportunities for process improvements and innovation within pilot plant operations. Evaluate new processes and methods, utilizing sound judgment to support research and product development objectives. Develop and maintain documentation for new processes, procedures, and operational improvements. Maintain laboratory and pilot plant equipment and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition. Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and best practices. Operate in compliance with all Hexcel Salt Lake City environmental policies and regulations. Work overtime as required to support operational and project needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing, research, laboratory, or testing environment.
• Demonstrated problem-solving ability, technical aptitude, and innovation in a manufacturing or R&D laboratory setting.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
• Ability to learn and apply new processes, procedures, and technologies.
• Basic computer proficiency and math skills.
• Strong commitment to safety and environmental compliance.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds independently and up to 80 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to perform tasks requiring a full range of motion, including overhead reaching, bending, stooping, twisting, and turning.
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders and walk throughout the facility multiple times during a shift.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
• Eligible candidates must be a: U.S. citizen, U.S. national, person lawfully admitted for permanent residence, temporary resident under sections 210(a) or 245(A) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, person admitted in refugee status, or person granted asylum.

Nice To Haves

• at least 3 years of carbon fiber manufacturing experience
• limited overtime and some schedule flexibility preferred
