About The Position
Mente Aviation is establishing a new Flight Department in San Jose, CA, to support a private company in the Bay Area. This department will operate a large-cabin Gulfstream G700. We are seeking pilots (Part 91) who will be responsible for the safe transportation of passengers, crewmembers, and cargo during all flight operations. The role involves flying the assigned Gulfstream G700 aircraft based in San Jose, CA (KSJC). The company is open to local candidates or those willing to commute to the base. Requirements
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot Certificate
- Current First Class Medical
- 3500 hours total time
- 1500 hours PIC turbine
- Strong CRM Skills
- Must be legal to work in the U.S.
- Ability to travel to any international destination
- Must be enrolled in an FAA/DOT Drug & Alcohol Program
- Pass a TSA Criminal History check

Responsibilities
- Serve as the final authority for the operation of the assigned aircraft.
- Have the authority to delay, cancel, or discontinue a flight if conditions are deemed unsuitable for safe operation.
- Have the authority to alter the planned flight during operation if deemed necessary for safer aircraft operation.
- Strictly adhere to company operating policies and procedures, respecting aircraft performance (takeoff, en-route, landing, special operations, mountainous airports, etc.) to mitigate the risk of controlled flight into terrain (CFIT).
- Responsible for flight planning, considering weather suitability, routing, airports, traffic conditions, airway facilities, and aircraft performance.
- Ensure that an initiated flight is completed as planned.
- Institute necessary changes due to en-route conditions to continue the flight under appropriate procedures and rules.
- Conduct flights in a safe and prudent manner, including reviewing and reporting aircraft maintenance status.
- Perform proper preflight inspections according to the Airplane Flight Manual or approved checklist.
- Conduct a complete check of weather and facilities along the route and at the destination airport.
- Ensure flights comply with company policies, operations specifications, and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
- Determine that weight and balance procedures are followed and that the aircraft's gross weight and CG are within operational limits.
- Ensure the safety of passengers, aircraft, and crew.
- Accurately complete all trip paperwork according to current procedures.
- Carry out duties and responsibilities in a professional manner at all times, setting an example for all crewmembers in conduct, appearance, alertness, discipline, and adherence to policies and procedures.
- Maintain open communication and be receptive to input from all crewmembers for the shared goal of safe flight operations.
- Comply with all regulatory requirements, operations specifications, and policies and procedures.
- Report any flight interruptions to the Company prior to the next departure.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
