About The Position

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the PFF Lead at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona with daily PFF operations to include subcontractor support and material control responsibility of all parts, tools, support equipment, and issues affecting PFF operations. The pilot flight equipment specialist will size, select and verify pilots JSAM (Joint Service Aircrew Mask) in accordance with approved Joint Strike Force (JSF) procedures. The specialist will perform remove and replace maintenance actions for HMD PFE. Additionally, their duties will include supporting the PFF Lead and project specialist with daily operations, inventory control, and Quality Assurance checks of the Helmet Mounted Displays (HMDs) and Below The Neck (BTN) garments. The specialist will coordinate with Items Analysts and local USAF base supply personnel to manage stock levels, receive and stock parts, and deliver parts to sub-contractors for pilot builds. The specialist will be required to use systems such as Autonomic Logistic Information System (ALIS), Supply Chain Management (SCM) and Logistics Data Management (LDM) during their daily duties. The candidate will occasionally be required to travel to other PFF sites to support JSAM sizing’s as needed.

Requirements

  • Prior Pilot Flight Equipment experience
  • Superior organization and written/verbal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop a positive working relationship with internal and external customers.
  • Established track record of meeting or exceeding department performance goals.
  • Must be extremely proficient in MS Office Excel, Outlook, and Inventory Management tracking.
  • This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of 4 years Pilot Flight Equipment (PFE) experience or 3 years F-35 Pilot Fit Facility experience.
  • Working knowledge of the ALIS and Global Sustainment architecture.
  • Experience scoping, leading, and implementing process improvements through: Lean process, Kaizen, and/or Six Sigma.
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related field.
  • Quality Assurance experience.
  • Database management skills.
  • Ability to respond quickly in a rapidly changing environment and adjust initiatives and priorities accordingly.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills; demonstrated ability to form effective relationships with diverse teams.
  • Inventory control and management experience.
  • Experience in forecasting and trend analysis.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the PFF Site Lead in all tasks associated with the daily operations of a Pilot Fit Facility.
  • Interface with the local training schoolhouse, operations manager, program management, engineering (material surveys), and supply chain management teams.
  • Manage safety, quality, productivity, and ensure Key Performance Indicators are met.
  • Perform JSAM sizing procedures and conduct remove and replace maintenance actions on HMD components.
