About The Position

Bechtel is hiring a PIIM Analytics Lead for its growing Manufacturing and Technology (M&T) business, which delivers technology projects in sectors including semiconductors, electric vehicles, advanced materials, and data centers. The role supports M&T projects across multiple business leads and reports to the Project Information and Innovation (PIIM) Manager as part of the PIIM team.

The PIIM team aggregates and analyzes project data, develops automated reporting processes and client-required reports, maintains high-quality analytics, and assists with project records management. The PIIM Analytics Lead works with project functions and stakeholders to create useful reporting tools based on timely, accurate data that support decision-making and risk management. The position also serves as a Power BI super-user, providing user training, troubleshooting, and input to system enhancements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent and 2–5 years of relevant experience, or 6–9 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
• Proficiency in SQL, including complex and advanced queries, performance optimization, and working with large datasets across databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, BigQuery, and SQL Server.
• Strong knowledge of Python or R for data manipulation, statistical analysis, and predictive modeling; Python tools listed include Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Seaborn, and Scikit-learn.
• Strong understanding of construction disciplines and processes.
• Ability to independently analyze large datasets and deliver insights to stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
• High attention to detail and ability to ask clarifying questions to ensure analytical accuracy.
• Business acumen and strong communication skills for communicating with all organizational levels.
• Understanding of how to create gateways and data flows and connect to servers using Power BI.
• Thorough understanding and capability in using DAX (Data Analysis Expressions).
• Ability to work independently and autonomously to some degree.
• Curiosity, self-learning, and complex problem-solving skills.
• Strong planning, organizational, time-management, decision-making, written, and oral communication skills.
• Comfort managing direct reports and working with cross-functional and distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop business intelligence and data analytics dashboards and visualizations in Power BI.
• Analyze data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to address business challenges and support informed decisions.
• Oversee analytics projects, set priorities, and manage timelines in line with organizational goals.
• Ensure data accuracy, security, and compliance with Bechtel standards.
• Design and develop pixel-perfect paginated reports using tools such as Power BI Report Server.
• Prepare documentation for API implementation and apply basic Python knowledge.
• Work with large datasets, perform ETL, and create SQL views that support business and stakeholder needs.
• Support special requests, including customer demonstration tools, ad hoc reporting, and other analytics.
• Cross-train colleagues and share best practices across the business line and project team.
• Serve as a super-user for Bechtel’s enterprise performance management system, including Power BI; train users, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to system enhancements.
• Create queries, data transformations, and exchanges for efficient and scalable business intelligence solutions.
• Work with project and corporate teams to share enterprise reporting best practices and support accurate, timely, standardized, and organized reporting.
• Build relationships with project teams and stakeholders, and provide guidance and training on information systems and innovation practices.
