About The Position

The Picker Packer is responsible for safely and efficiently removing finished products from production machines, inspecting them for quality, and packing them according to company standards. This role ensures products meet all SQF, ISO, and customer requirements, while maintaining a clean and organized work area to support overall production efficiency and product quality.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in labeling and documentation.
  • Basic math skills for counting and verifying quantities.
  • Ability to scan, match, and interpret product labels and job travelers.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality control.
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic understanding of production paperwork and labeling procedures.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Dependable and able to follow instructions with minimal supervision.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to identify defects and maintain product consistency.
  • Time management and organizational skills to meet production targets.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 10 hours per shift).
  • Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and repetitive hand motions.
  • Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 25 lbs. regularly.
  • Exposure to moderate noise, heat, and movement from machinery.
  • Work performed on a manufacturing floor requiring constant alertness to safety procedures.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, ear protection, hairnets, and gloves required.
  • Fast-paced, team-oriented production environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in manufacturing, packaging, or assembly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Remove die-cut items from stackers or sheets and inspect them for defects.
  • Verify proper quantity and package items into designated poly sleeves (bags) per company procedures.
  • Assemble and pack products into cartons, seal, and apply correct labels.
  • Seal master cartons, place carton labels, and record required documentation.
  • Complete Process Inspection Reports and other required production forms.
  • Perform Form, Fit, and Function tests as required.
  • Report quality issues or machine concerns immediately to production or quality management.
  • Assemble pallets per job traveler, ensuring all cartons are labeled correctly and securely stacked.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including sweeping and clearing debris.
  • Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and SQF/ISO regulations.
  • Assist with training new employees as assigned.
  • Perform other department duties as needed.
