Seasonal Picker/Packer - 3rd Shift
About The Position
Lakeside Book Company is seeking Seasonal Picker/Packers for their 3rd shift operations at their Distribution Center located in Indianapolis, IN. This role is crucial for accurately picking items based on order requests and packing them securely for shipment. The position offers overtime opportunities during peak season (June-September) and potential for full-time employment afterward. This is a seasonal role, not eligible for benefits, and is expected to last through the facility’s peak season, with the possibility of ending earlier or extending slightly depending on business needs.
Requirements
- Previous warehouse, distribution, or logistics experience - required
- Basic math skills for accuracy in order picking
- Proven success working in fast-paced, high-demand seasonal periods
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift throughout duration of 8 to 10-hour shift
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (written and verbal) to be able to collaborate with team members and follow direction from leadership
Responsibilities
- Utilize the Jennifer system to accurately pick items based on order requests
- Pack items for shipment, ensuring they are packed securely and labeled correctly
- Communicate with supervisors regarding discrepancies or order issues
- Adherence to all safety policies
