About The Position

This role involves receiving orders, using a voice-directed system to pick products from bins, and packing them for shipment. The Picker/Packer is responsible for ensuring accuracy in product selection and quantity, maintaining production records, and properly packing orders to prevent damage during transit. Special orders are handled according to specific procedures. The position also requires maintaining a clean and safe work environment, participating in special projects, and adhering to all company policies and standards. This includes meeting quantity and quality standards, complying with WorldWide Business Standards, and maintaining appropriate workplace behavior.

Requirements

Good reading, writing, math, and computer skills.
Good communication (written/verbal) skills.
Detail oriented and accountable for making accurate decisions under set guidelines.
Good problem-solving skills.
Ability to follow instructions, work under stress, and handle multiple assignments.
Ability to read fine print and differentiate products with similar characteristics (size, color, vendor code).
Knowledge of basic warehousing operations preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred, or comparable work experience.

Responsibilities

Receive coversheet and assigned cart for each series of orders.
Log onto the voice system to begin the voice-directed picking process.
Move cart through product bin aisles and pick corresponding products.
Place correct product and quantity into the cart, bagging or banding small items together.
Verify product during the picking and potentially the packing process.
Maintain daily individual production records, noting times for specific tasks.
Return cart to staging area after completing picking.
Pack customer orders by verifying products and checking off packing lists.
Select appropriately sized boxes or envelopes for shipment.
Pack all orders neatly and correctly, ensuring quality and preventing damage.
Pack glass items appropriately in bubble wrap, place small items in bags, and liquids in bags, packing standing upright.
Follow proper packing procedures.
Report any errors in product selection or quality to the appropriate team member or area, and correct orders as necessary before shipment.
Send packed orders via conveyor system to the appropriate location for packing materials and sealing.
Place packed customer orders on the conveyor system for shipment.
Process special orders using the special order process.
Dispose of empty boxes and packaging appropriately to maintain safe and clean working conditions.
Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required.
Meet company standards for quantity and quality of work.
Perform all work-related tasks in compliance with company policies and procedures, including WorldWide Business Standards.
Adhere to company policies, procedures, and directives regarding workplace behavior.
