About The Position

Prepare finished goods for shipment and stage them according to the freight line. This role involves assisting in shipping and receiving departments, maintaining inventory accuracy, and participating in physical inventories. The operator will stack and organize product on pallets, shrink wrap items for shipment, and perform daily pre-shift inspections and maintenance checks on forklifts. Responsibilities also include proper operation of equipment like dock plate restraints, circular saws, and wrapping machines, ensuring hazardous markings on the Bill of Lading match container markings, and monitoring truck drivers for DOT security and proper PPE usage. The role requires monitoring the safe storage of products, picking and packing customer orders (domestic and international) to meet OTIF standards, utilizing warehouse practices, 5S, and good housekeeping. Compliance with the DOT Security Plan and regulations, monitoring the Kanban inventory system, and using mobile barcode scanners for order picking are also key duties.

Requirements

  • Reading and writing skills.
  • Ability to operate a counterbalance forklift.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred, not required.
  • One year of related manufacturing experience preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

  • Start before-shift inspection of forklift for preventive maintenance and safety and PPE.
  • Assist wherever needed throughout the warehouse in shipping and receiving dept.
  • Assist with Inventory control ensuring counts correct.
  • Participate in Physical Inventories.
  • Stack and organize product on pallets, shrink wrap to prepare for shipment.
  • Perform daily PM checks on the forklifts.
  • Practice proper operation and use of the dock plate restraints.
  • Practice proper operation of the circular saw and wrapping machines.
  • Ensure the Hazardous marking on the Bill of Lading matches the Markings on the containers.
  • Monitor the Truck Drivers entering the facility for DOT Security.
  • Monitor the Use of proper PPE for the Truck Drivers entering the facility.
  • Monitor the safe storage of the products in their respective bin locations and shipping lanes.
  • Pick and pack customer orders to meet OTIF.
  • Utilize warehouse practices, 5S and good housekeeping practices.
  • Comply with the DOT Security Plan and regulations.
  • Monitor the Kanban inventory system.
  • Use mobile barcode scanners for order picking.
