This is a temporary Picker and Packer position. The day-to-day job responsibilities may differ significantly depending on the scale of warehouse operations and the products shipped. Common responsibilities include selecting and packaging products for shipment based on customer orders, using technology like handheld devices to sort, scan, and prepare orders, and surveying items for possible damage or defects before shipment. The role involves filling customer orders promptly by reviewing order forms to ascertain scan numbers, sizes, colors, and merchandise quantities, and handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials to optimize inventory and meet customer orders. Additionally, the position may involve operating automated, computerized, or robotic picking and packing systems, comparing invoices to items received to ensure accuracy, and requisitioning merchandise from suppliers based on available space, inventory, or customer demand. Maintaining organized and properly rotated stock, following safety protocols, and utilizing a continuous improvement mindset are also key aspects. The role includes stocking shelves, disposing of or returning damaged/defective items, and maintaining a clean and safe work area. Other duties may be assigned.
