About The Position

The Pick & Prep Clerk prepares Pick & Prep products and provides product preparation services to create a sensory, engaging guest experience while operating at or above company standards. The role includes guest engagement through preparation, sampling, storytelling, and suggestive selling, as well as maintaining the department’s merchandising, operational, quality, sanitation, and safety standards. The clerk also performs product preparation, receiving, ordering, stocking, merchandising, guest service, and public-address announcements as needed.

Requirements

• Ability to work well with others.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds consistently and 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to read and understand information and directions.
• Knowledge of Pick & Prep operations.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements, including knife skills.
• Effective communication, guest service, and selling skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to communicate effectively with and take direction from supervisors.
• Ability to work with computers and scales.

Responsibilities

• Engage guests through product preparation, active sampling, and suggestive selling.
• Provide superior guest service, including storytelling about department products and highlighting benefits such as freshness, health, seasonality, and local sourcing.
• Demonstrate knife skills and showmanship to highlight Pick & Prep services and offerings.
• Operate the Pick & Prep area according to merchandising and operational standards.
• Ensure products for sale meet Lowes Foods quality standards.
• Maintain department sanitation and safety according to Lowes Foods standards.
• Perform product preparation, receiving, ordering, stocking, merchandising, and guest service as needed to achieve standards.
• Make public-address announcements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
