Temp-to-Hire Pick/Pack - 2nd Shift
About The Position
This is a temp-to-hire position for a Pick/Packer on the 2nd shift. The role involves operating within specific systems to pick items, ensuring accuracy by verifying book titles, quantities, and condition. Responsibilities include handling exceptions for damaged or missing items according to quality control procedures, building pallets for shipment (labeling, wrapping, loading), and strictly following all safety guidelines, including safe lifting and handling procedures. The company emphasizes a strong safety culture and environmental stewardship. This position offers a pay rate of $17.00/hr with a $2.50/hr shift differential for the 2nd shift. The work schedule is Monday-Friday, 3:00pm-11:00pm, with potential overtime including Saturdays. The location is 700 Airtech Parkway, Plainfield, IN 46168. After a 90-day probationary performance review, employees are eligible for full-time, permanent status.
Requirements
- Previous warehouse, distribution, or logistics experience - required
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50lbs throughout shift
- Ability to follow all safety guidelines - required
Responsibilities
- Operate within the GreyOrange or Jennifer systems to pick items
- Maintain accuracy by verifying book titles, quantities, and item condition
- Handle exceptions such as damaged, missing, or oversized items by adhering to Lakeside Book Company’s quality control procedures
- Build pallets for shipment, including labeling, wrapping, and loading
- Follow all safety guidelines, including safe lifting and handling procedure
