About The Position
This is a temp-to-hire position for a Pick/Packer on the 2nd shift. The role involves operating within specific systems to pick items, maintaining accuracy, handling exceptions, building pallets for shipment, and adhering to all safety guidelines. The position offers a pay rate of $17.00/hr plus a $2.50/hr shift differential. The shift is Monday-Friday, 3:00pm-11:00pm, with overtime as required, including Saturdays. Upon successful completion of a 90-day probationary performance review, the employee is eligible for full-time, permanent job status.
Requirements
- Previous warehouse, distribution, or logistics experience
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50lbs throughout shift
- Ability to follow all safety guidelines
Responsibilities
- Operate within the GreyOrange or Jennifer systems to pick items
- Maintain accuracy by verifying book titles, quantities, and item condition
- Handle exceptions such as damaged, missing, or oversized items by adhering to Lakeside Book Company’s quality control procedures
- Build pallets for shipment, including labeling, wrapping, and loading
- Follow all safety guidelines, including safe lifting and handling procedures
