Piano Maintenance Assistant
About The Position
The Piano Technician Assistant student employment job provides a great opportunity to learn how to maintain and tune Berklee College acoustic pianos. This position involves significant hands on training with Berklee’s full-time piano technicians to become proficient. As such, our team is looking for long term commitment to continue working with us while at Berklee. Student employees maintain practice room pianos in 150 Mass Ave, 160 Mass Ave, 171 Mass Ave, 1120 Boylston, 1108 Boylston, 98 Hemenway, 270 Commonwealth Ave, and 8 The Fenway. Specialized piano tools are provided on loan by the Piano Technology Department. Employees who continue to work in this capacity throughout their undergraduate studies will gain considerable skills in this music industry craft.
Requirements
- Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
- Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program (or pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester if only working in the summer).
- Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).
- Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable.
- A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA (first-semester students are exempt until completion of their first semester).
- Federal Work Study students may apply.
- In good disciplinary standing.
- Must be located in the U.S.

Responsibilities
- Maintain practice room pianos in various campus locations.
- Learn how to maintain and tune Berklee College acoustic pianos.
