The Piano Accompanist is a highly skilled collaborative artist who contributes to the musical, educational, and spiritual life of the Music Program through exceptional musicianship, preparation, and artistry. This position partners closely with faculty and student musicians to support rehearsals, instruction, performances, and other significant moments in the formation of developing artists. The ideal candidate is an accomplished pianist with strong collaborative instincts, stylistic versatility, excellent sight-reading and rehearsal skills, and a genuine commitment to helping musicians grow. More than a supporting role, the accompanist serves as a musical partner—listening deeply, responding creatively, and bringing confidence, sensitivity, and excellence to every rehearsal and performance. Within a Christian university community, the Piano Accompanist has the opportunity to contribute to the formation of students as musicians and as people. Through artistic excellence, humility, attentiveness, and a spirit of service, the accompanist helps students discover and steward their musical gifts, strengthen community, and contribute to the flourishing of others.
