Piano and Voice Instructor
About The Position
Twelve Tone Music School is seeking a charismatic and energetic instructor to teach private piano and voice lessons, as well as group piano classes. Requirements
- Background in music with the ability to play piano up to intermediate or advanced level.
- Background in music with the ability to play voice up to an intermediate or advanced level.
- Some formal music training required.
- Experience teaching both private and small group classes (no more than 4-5 students).
- Ability to teach a class of up to 4 students on your own.
- Experience or familiarity with music technology that includes, but is not limited to, hooking up and connecting keyboards and microphones to digital devices, or learning programs to help run classes and events.
- Ability to learn and use our proprietary LMS systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all Twelve Tone Music School students, staff and parents.
- Ability to be timely and present for all scheduled classes and lessons.
- Must pass a background check.
- Ability, at times, to lift up to 50 lbs.

- Higher degree in music, education and/or performing arts.
- Ability to arrange music.
Responsibilities
- Teach private piano and voice lessons.
- Teach group piano classes.
- Follow a prewritten curriculum and adhere to school-wide standards.
- Work with the school's administration and teachers to prepare students for showcases and events.
- Be willing and able to work a number of student showcases and events throughout the year.
- Communicate effectively with all Twelve Tone Music School students, staff and parents.
- Motivate students and encourage progress while ensuring a friendly and outgoing creative environment.
- Be timely and present for all scheduled classes and lessons.
- Nurture creative growth in a fun, personable and outgoing atmosphere.
Benefits
- Part-Time Instructor Schedule (Mondays, Wednesdays and the possibility of Saturdays)
- Weekday schedule is between 3:00pm - 8:00pm, and weekend schedule is 9:00am - 1:00pm.
- $28-$32 per hour starting.
- Instructors are paid for entire teaching shift, regardless of student attendance.
