About The Position
The Baltimore Jewish Community Center is seeking a skilled piano accompanist to support HaZamir Baltimore, a chapter of HaZamir: The International Jewish Teen Choir. The accompanist will work with a SATB high school choir during rehearsals in Pikesville on Sundays from 3:45 to 5:45 PM. The accompanist may choose to work one hour each week (preferred) or two hours every other week. Compensation is $55 per hour.
Requirements
- Strong piano proficiency, including the ability to play accompaniment and individual vocal parts.
- References required.
Nice To Haves
- Basic sight-reading ability.
- Prior experience accompanying choirs or ensembles.
Responsibilities
- Provide piano accompaniment for rehearsals.
- Play SATB parts as needed to support learning.
- Collaborate with the conductor and singers to create a strong rehearsal environment.
