About The Position

BaptistCare Bethel in Albany is seeking a Physiotherapist to join our 85-bed residential aged care facility. In this role, you will work with the multidisciplinary team to help residents maintain their functional abilities, maximise independence, and improve their quality of life. Your key responsibilities include delivering physiotherapy treatments focused on mobility, fall and injury risk management, chronic disease management, and pain management. You will also provide leadership and clinical supervision to the Lifestyle Coordinator and Therapy and Leisure Partners, ensuring residents’ needs are met according to their care plans. Additionally, you will participate in case conferences and guide staff on delivering person-centred care. Your role will involve conducting assessments and regular reviews to address residents' physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, while building trusting relationships based on dignity and respect. You will work closely with families, offering support, explaining changing needs, and referring them for further assistance when necessary.

Requirements

  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Physiotherapist
  • Strong understanding of contemporary Physiotherapy practices, particularly within aged care
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience contributing to care planning and delivery
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrates empathy, understanding, and respect when working with older people
  • Committed to upholding the dignity and wellbeing of residents/patients

Responsibilities
