Physics Learning Assistants (LAs) play a crucial role in supporting student learning in physics courses. Their primary responsibilities include helping students develop effective learning strategies, assisting with problem-solving in the lab environment, and ensuring the smooth operation of physics labs. LAs are expected to stay current with the physics material being taught, attend their assigned labs, and contribute to maintaining a safe and organized lab space. There may also be opportunities to assist in physics lectures and potentially with grading. The time commitment is approximately 3 hours per week for one lab, with an additional 1.75 hours per week for each extra lab. Furthermore, required training and professional development sessions may add 10-15 hours per semester.
