About The Position

The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Brigham Young University (BYU) in Provo, Utah, invites applications for a faculty position to begin August 2027. Qualifications include a Ph.D. in physics, astronomy or related field, ability to pursue a strong and independent research agenda, and a clear commitment to both undergraduate and graduate teaching. Requirements

• Ph.D. in physics, astronomy or related field.
• Ability to pursue a strong and independent research agenda.
• Clear commitment to both undergraduate and graduate teaching.
• Must reside in the State of Utah to be eligible for employment consideration.
• Successful candidates are expected to support and contribute to the academic and religious missions of the university within the context of the principles and doctrine of the affiliated church.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent teaching and research mentoring at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
