About The Position

Community Health Network and GoHealth Urgent Care have partnered to provide urgent care across Central Indiana. The Physician provides a broad range of clinical services to patients of all ages, including care for acute conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, minor infections, and injuries. The Physician independently assesses, diagnoses, and treats patients, collaborates with advanced practice providers, and escalates care when necessary. The role includes supervising GoHealth physician assistants and nurse practitioners remotely and serving as a Collaborating Physician during credentialing. Physicians work scheduled 12-hour shifts and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited medical school.
2–5 years of post-residency clinical experience.
Minimum 18 months in an applicable practice setting.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine (ABMS or AOA).
Active state medical license.
Experience in Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine.
Proficiency in office procedures such as suturing and splinting.
Strong communication, listening, and customer service skills.

Nice To Haves

Adult and pediatric practice experience.
Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
Multilingual communication skills.
Familiarity with telemedicine platforms.
Basic understanding of medical billing and coding.

Responsibilities

Examine and treat patients across all age groups.
Take comprehensive medical histories.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests and X-rays.
Diagnose conditions and prescribe medications.
Treat minor injuries, including suturing, splinting, and casting.
Record progress notes and manage follow-up care.
Educate and counsel patients on health and wellness.
Administer vaccinations and refer patients for specialized care.
Supervise GoHealth physician assistants and nurse practitioners remotely and act as a Collaborating Physician during credentialing.
Work scheduled 12-hour shifts.
Perform other duties as assigned.
