About The Position

The Medical Provider evaluate medical documentation for sufficiency, recommend necessary additional information, suggest appropriate accommodations, and participate in collaborative decision-making processes to ensure compliance with the law and facilitate an equitable work environment.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience practicing as a Physician in Internal or Family Medicine.
  • Knowledge of ADA, Rehabilitation Act of 1973, ADAA, FMLA, and relevant federal disability and leave laws.
  • Understanding of HIPAA and related privacy laws and regulations.
  • Currently carry state licensure within the United States as a Physician (Doctor of Medicine/M.D.).
  • Must remain current with state licensure in any state.
  • Board certified in General Medicine.
  • Must be a US Citizen.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze Medical Documentation for Suitability of Accommodation: Review medical documentation submitted by employees requesting reasonable accommodations. Determine if the submitted documentation is sufficient to assess the suitability of the requested accommodation under the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended. Document and summarize findings regarding the suitability of the accommodation request based on the medical documentation provided.
  • Advise on Additional Medical Information: If the medical documentation is insufficient to make a determination regarding suitability for accommodation, the Contractor shall advise on specific additional information required from the employee’s physician. Provide guidance on the type of medical information that should be requested to support the accommodation determination (e.g., functional limitations, diagnosis, treatment plan, etc.).
  • Recommend Alternative Accommodations: When the requested accommodation is determined to be unsuitable or not feasible, the Contractor shall provide recommendations for alternative accommodations that could effectively meet the employee’s needs. The Contractor will suggest feasible alternatives based on a comprehensive understanding of the employee’s medical condition, functional limitations, and the operational requirements of the federal agency.
  • Participation in ReAcTs (Reasonable Accommodation Team) for Collaborative Analysis along with General Counsel, Employee Relations and Civil Rights. Participate in ReAcTs, which consist of multi-disciplinary teams, to analyze individual accommodation requests, contribute medical expertise, and offer guidance to decision-makers. Provide support in evaluating case-specific factors and advise on reasonable accommodations that align with medical needs and legal requirements.
