About The Position

The Physician assesses and manages conditions/illnesses of assigned patients at Caro Psychiatric Hospital. This position is responsible for providing medical care and treatment to patients, including physical examinations, assessments of injuries/illnesses, preventive health measures, adverse drug reactions and drug interactions, and minor first aid to staff. The role provides direct health care services to persons in the care or custody of the state and has unsupervised access to controlled substances. Additionally, this position provides consultative services for a specialized program of psychiatric services at Caro Psychiatric Hospital for patients, including training other health care professionals and support staff in the medical review of cases.

Requirements

Possession of a medical degree from an accredited school of medicine.
Three years of post-medical degree, full-licensure experience in the practice of medicine or osteopathic medicine and surgery.
Michigan licensure to practice medicine or osteopathic medicine and surgery.
Successful completion of a background investigation and a criminal record check.
Must not use artificial intelligence (AI) software of any kind in any area of the selection process.
